Damper Plates ( torsional couplings ) and Oil Coolers

Damper Plates (Engine Torsional Couplings ) come in many styles and capacities, depending on engine and transmission. The

damper plate (torsional coupling) come in many forms, often mounted to flywheel and assist in turning the transmission while attempting to help isolate transmission from some damaging forces and torsional noise. Both Gasoline and Diesel engines create

torsional forces, especially at low RPM, making transmission rattle and knock. The proper damper plate can help assist in reducing

torsional noise, while helping to protect transmission. Often times, and in particular with Diesel motors, transmission manufacturers

recommended the engine manufacturer perform a torsional analysis on motor, and choose the torsional coupling they prefer after

analysis.Damper Plates are not a cure for engine torsional loads and noise, but are required, and assist in different ways.
